91 crx b16a problems
ok so i got the car from a trade awhile back and have slowly been fixing the problems on it
i am stuck because the car idles fine when its on and i have reved it
but if i go to start it on a cold start it will turn on then die, turn on then die unless i rev it up once
it also has a fluctuating idle if i slowly rev up to 1500 rpm it will sound like its hitting a redline
it does this at every rpm up to 3000, after that it just free revs
and if i wot rev it it revs fine
can anyone help?

i also do not have a fast idle and i got the idle air control valve from a friends running 96 integra
car has blox intake manifold but still has obd0 b16 throttle body so a vacuum line is ran to the map sensor

knock sensor is possible.
ya gotta take out as many variables as possible.
Bad idle could be the "FITV" (Fast Idle Thermo Valve) or your IACV (Idle Air Control Valve)

You do not have a fast idle valve? 14 is iacv check it with a volt meter/ replace it. If your car is converted to obd1 or if you are running a chipped pr3 ecu. I you have access to crome and a chip burner you can delete the iacv and lean the air fuel ratio a little at idle and it should idle fine.
found the problem....... i was installing my blox 68mm throttle body with the i/m after being port matched and looked at the clip that i've been plugging into the iacv.............
its was the one wire knock sensor clip so i found the iacv clip plugged it in and no more problems

ya its fairly new so im not too worried
i also wanted to ask i recently realized i have integra knuckles and am trying to redo the brakes. (drilled slotted rotors, ebc pads, 15/16 master cyclinder) but i have a proportioning valve by the passenger shock tower that looks stock but should i change that with a 40/40 one and is there any modification to doing this

the 4040 is a direct replacement...you only need to swap the mounting bracket. i also have the teg knuckles and 15/16 MC, you'll be very happy when it's done!
