Lower Ball Joint Installation Problem
Hi H-T's
I had problem screwing the nut back on the lower ball joint as the ball joint itself is rotates with it as you screw it on. The mating surface of the lower ball joint and the lower control arm is tapered supposedly, putting load would make the tapered faces seat better and provide greater friction however, this didn't work on me.
In the end of the day, I used **** loads of degreaser and tried it, didn't work so I sprinkled sand on the LCA's hole, get oem wheels and place it on the hub opposite way (dish facing out) and get someone to stand on it to put load, so it worked.
Why is it like this? anyone else have better idea how they got the ball joint to stay?
I'm afraid that I couldn't take the nut off next time because the ball joint would rotate with it again.

This has happened to me before on a integra and accord. I just put a jack under the lower control arm and jack it up some and the spring will place force on the suspension to keep it snug to get the bolt on w/o it spinning with the bolt.
If you have a friend with an air gun, tell him to come over. If you use the air gun, it will be on in no time. I've had this problem before, I just replaced the ball joints with the new ones and never had this issue again.

any balljoint that has ever spun, usually need to be replaced.
i've personally seen a balljoint that spun, forced to tighten down and a few days later it broke, separating the knuckle from the lca.
