my dad has a 90 accord dx and it runs perfect, BUT it will not move when its put in drive, but when he put it in reverse it kinda grabs and picks up. but in drive and low it will not move lol. he had someone come look at it and they just wanted to charge him a grand for a new tranny, i was like ****kk that lol. what could the problem be? there isnt any check engine light, im not sure if it will throw a code for the trans, any input would be great, thanks
have him check the t c u . its an auto withe the sport button rite . if so i strong say check that . i bought an91 wagon auto . had to drive it like an 5spd for an week till i found the tcu . after it was fine . it has to from the 90/91 for the sport model . any other year it will not register for some reason .

ya its auto, but it does not move at all. so i couldnt even drive it like a 5 speed lol. it just revs up like its in neutral. but when it in reverse it grabbs just fine and starts to move. and the s4 light isnt blinking or nothing. we sometimes have a problem with getting the key out but thats only when the shift sensor thing(indicator light ) isnt lit up(the park indicator light).

tranny fluid was just changed cuz thats what the guy said, he said it might just need new fluid. so we did that and still nothing.
I read somewhere else that you can disconnect the battery for a minute to reset the TCU (if it's having trouble) and then maybe the trans will let you move along in a limp mode. But Im not sure. Sure wish there was more trans info out there, but when you go to a shop with a trans problem, it's always "needs a rebuild".
