find a used z6 head, have it worked by a pro with multi angle valve job, new seals, maybe even a port and polish. shaved a little for a little extra compression. you might spend about 400 bones, but you will be happier than a puppy with 2 tails.

Smog has to been done the crooked way. Once you go b20, you're screwed smog-wise. Keep the car stock looking and quiet and you will avoid a lot of the hassle.

new everything is my advice. new bearings, pistons, rods. new oil pump and water pump. make sure you have a machine shop inspect the cylinders and bore if you have to. have it decked as well.

i figured id just buy everything new..then i dont have to worry about it down the road. oh and wich head would be great to get b16 or gsr? and whats bore and decked?

advice..the motor im getting is a complete, the only thing is the head is no good cuz the valves started to melt or something like that..theres pieces everywhere. you think its still worth getting? i mean its 100 bucks

if the valves broke and you don't plan on sleeving, no. The debris could have scarred up the cylinders to bad to fix with a bore of .50 over. Just make sure that the cylinders are in good shape before you buy it.

The bore is the size of the opening for the cylinder. Stock b20 is 84mm. Having it decked means having the deck (area of the block that meets with the head) resurfaced just like you would a head to ensure that it is straight. Either a B16 or GSR head will work great. I used a ported and polished B16 head for my build. Do a search and you'll find all of the info on the build and it will cover all of the terminology as well
