is there a diffrence between ek and eg forks?

the 99-00 civic si's fork are a bit wider.

d-series civics not sure. on majestic honda's site they show different product numbers. you can try calling two different stealerships for part numbers for each?!

 

I'm not sure if there's any difference in the forks, but you can swap EG and EK front shocks without changing the forks.

EF and EG/DC/EK front shocks are interchangeable if you swap the forks. This works out nicely on later models because EF front shocks are shorter.

 

my friend was thelliing me that the ek forks will make you eg stand a bit higher

 

I have both sitting in front of me and they appear to be exactly the same in all dimensions.

So, your saying that the eg/ek forks are the same? Which ek forks do you have? I have heard that the EK SI forks are wider between the fork legs. Can anyone confirm this? I know that the EG and DC forks are the same.

 

EG, DC, EK forks are all the same. In fact a lot of companies (e.g. Skunk2) don't even make 96-00 specific suspension. They give you EG/DC suspension and washers for the rear LCA's.

 

99-00 civic si has differnt forks, that is way you need to change them when you use si lower conrtol arms. i have never noticed a difference with any others, give me a little while and i will go check, i have si forks and dx forks and i will compare.

 

just compared them, the si is wider and looks to be appox 1/4 longer. i pulled both and set them side by side,

99-00 si IS different. my dx fork cant go over a si lca, they do also look to be a different shape, my guess would be to clear sway bar.

 

This is because the lower control arms on the Si are different then all of the D16 models. In other words you would need Si lower arms to use them. Also you would need the Si front swaybar.
