Is there any way to tell if a car is consuming oil without actually driving it and checking it later on... i'm going to look at a used car and i dont have any trust what so ever in the salesman that i'll be speaking with.

 

check plugs.
check oil level
check for leaks.
compression test...........if you dont trust him dont buy it..........carfax. or learn to rebuild motors yourself
