Icon4 b20vtec build question

I am planning on building a all motor b20vtec, using a gsr head and high compression pistons. When it comes to the building of the block, would it be better to use aftermarket gsr parts ( crank and rods) or would it be better if i use aftermarket b20 parts???

you need the b20 parts. piston sizes are different

buy forged rods(with arp studs) and forged pistons. some people use a block guard. i do

get a oil breather kit bc you wont have a pcv system and you wanna stop all that blow by from getting back into your engine with all the gases

buy the golden eagle vtec conversion kit too

good luck, sounds like you need to do a bit more research

Well besides the obvious diameter differences, is the height different?

If the GSR/B20 crank are the same in terms of lobe height/width, and the connecting rods are the same from GSR/B20. then why wouldnt you be able to use them?

If the ONLY difference between the GSR/B20 block internals is the piston diameter, then **** use the B20 pistons and GSR the rest of it.

IF thats the only difference im saying.

B20 crank has a longer stroke than the GSR; 89mm vs. 87.2mm.

My B20VTEC has "1.8 internals."
B20 Block Stock Sleeves 84.5mm
RS MAchine ITR style pistons
GSR/ITR Eagle Rods
ITR Crank

you can't mix rods and crank. ITR/GSR stroke is shorter but with longer rods and vice versa for B20/LS.

I personally chose the ITR crank because I got a good deal on it and the rods and I had driven a few built this way and they revved smooth as hell.

stick with the b20 crank, you wont be disappointed

but i havent tried the gsr crank/rods so idk really. but mine revs just fine and fast if thats all

im planning on using gsr parts for the bottom end too see how it goes. since i have already built a b20 using b20 parts, and it was a beast......
