B18c Type R EG shift linkage guru's in here!
Just finished putting a b18c into a friends EG, fires up and idles but will not go into 1st 2nd , 5th or reverse. Will go in no problem into 3rd and 4th but the shifter isn't swinging far enough left or right to reach 1st or 5th.
-Checked bushings
-Shift linkage is not upside down
-Stock ITR shifter
-Unsure if linkage is bent but doesn't seem to be
Any suggestions?
Thanks guys

Did the engine and everything come out of a wrecked car or what? The linkage isn't hitting the exhaust or heat sheild or anything else? Did u use the compression pin to secure the linkage to the shift rod of the trans?
Not sure if motor is wrecked or not but everything seems ok.
Using stock type r linkage and shifter
Bushings are good
Nothing in the way of the shifter.
We are stumped.

Did u use the compression pin to secure the linkage to the shift rod of the trans? The shift forks in the trans maybe the cause but not likely.
It's easy to take the trans apart and look but I don't know if u feel comfortable doing that. U can find exploded views of it to help u too.
ya it gets a little grey. Motor is in car. Everything hooked up. Not my car, not my motor. Never touched a tranny (lol pun intended)
We'll figure it out eventually.
