Default 06 Accord Fuel Cap ?

Ok, i have a 06 Accord. Now i ran the car low on gas until the fuel light was on, but it never died or anything. So i made it to the gas station and top off. Good to go right? Wrong, i look down and see the writing, check fuel cap. I checked the cap and it was tight. SO i turned the car off, took the cap off again, and replaced it. Started the car, samething. I looked at the rubber piece also in the cap. It looks to be fine also. The car runs fine and everything, but would like to get rid of the fuel cap issue. But i could take off the battery cable and leave it off and that will clear it right?

i think if you drive it through a few drive cycles, the system will see that its tight and clear the light...im not too sure on that though. if not, you can have the dealer clear it for you

No need to pull a battery cable. If the fuel cap isn't faulty and the EVAP system monitor isn't detecting any leaks, then the pending code will clear on its own within a few trips. If there is indeed a problem, then the Check Engine light will be turned on the next time that the EVAP monitor runs.

Unplugging ur battery wont help, it will only reset the computer and if there is a problem it will show up again after reset is finish , so ull just be delaying the issue...

I forgot to mention this, my wife has a 04 crv and the same thing happens to her when she gets gas not all the time but once in a while the light goes on, and after a couple of trips it goes away , but only when she gets gas.. it doesnt seem like a major problem but i can see how it gets annoying to some people..g/l
