Default Soft top replacment.

Alright so some genious thought it was worth cutting my plastic rear window open to enter my car and steal and jvc cd player and 15 bucks in change.

So now i need a new top or rear window.
What is the cheapest way to repair this.
I have a 2000 s2000 with plastic rear window.
I know a place locally that will stitch in a new plastic window if i bring them my top and they will charge me 400 canadian.
But i am also interested in changing to a glass rear window.
If i get a 01 02 glass window with frame will it drop right in?
I know i can get a kit for 500 of ebay but requires install on the old frame.
I dont think i am capable of doing this swap.

What are my options? thanks for the help.

at least with a plastic window they break in via that, as opposed to slashing the top! 400 is reasonable for a new plastic window fitted.
I don't mind plastic windows so long as you look after them and try to prevent them clouding over time.
I have no idea on replacing with a glass one, but there have been threads both here and on s2ki regarding it, so have a search around..

get the glass top it's a better and you know the plastic will turn yellow after time. u could get it off ebay for like 600. Not bad price cause the dealership for the top is about 800..

the swap takes about 6 hours start to finish. Just take your time and make sure you get all the little details together. jdm_knowledge helped me do mine and he did an palstic to glass convertion on him as well, hit him up for specifit details.

here are some pics of the swap

Buy the top from topsonline.com and install it yourself. That's what I did, PITA but you save a ton of money.
