any good how-to's on sizing bearings, pistons, and rings?
ok, i am a beginner when it comes to building motors. i have taken many apart and could put them back together, the only thing i would be nervous about would be picking the right size bearings to go back. i would probably just put the stock size bearings in if ive never done anything to the motor right? or would i have to measure and see
also, if freshly bore...lets say a b18 to 84mm, wouldn't 84mm pistons be a REALLY tight fit or are they made actually a little smaller? how important is ring gap? ring gap is measured by putting it in the cylinder perfect, and using a feeler gauge right?
i have a motor right now that just needs new rings in it...so i was thinking all i need is stock rod bearings, and piston rings, and ofcourse gasket kit. the motor is in the car being driven everyday

Check out the Helms manual for GSR 01.
Also, unless you sleeve the block, you cannot bore stock sleeves to 84 mm.
