Piston rings oversize?
Hi. I need to re-ring my 93 civic engine d15b7. I wanted to know if there is any way I can know if I need oversize rings. I am going to re-ring it because it smokes at high rpms, it has been diagnosed as the rings. besides that it runs fine. The car is in mexico and I am in the states right now on vacation and i have to buy everything here to re-ring it because in mexico they dont have anything for this model. How would I know if I need Oversize rings. Also when would I need oversize rod bearings?

Re: Piston rings oversize?
Lol only way you would need over sized rings is if your block was bored out so if it's still a stock bore motor no you don't need them and over sized bearings for what if you follow the shop manual the bearing size is determined by the number on the rod and the corresponding number on the crank. But also unless you had some aftermarket rods installed or you had your crank machined no reason to get o resized bearings
