Hello everyone, I'm having a problem with my 1996 Honda Accord. I have tried searching for solutions, but to no avail

On every 5-10 starts or so I get a grinding noise as my car turns over as if the starter isn't disengaging. I've replaced the starter 4 times, and each of those times I've heard the same grinding noise with each of the starters. Again, it doesn't happen every time, and I checked the flywheel and it looked in great shape. This newest starter that I got worked great for about a week with no grinding, but then I needed a jump due to the frigidly cold weather, and since then I've had that terrible noise on occasional start-ups. Could it be due to a low battery?? I have less than half-life on it. Would a new battery solve this issue, or is it something else? Perhaps ignition switch? My car starts up right away just fine every time and I don't need to crank to get it to turn over, but it's just the grinding that is the problem. Otherwise the vehicle operates fine.

if you had to jump your battery, chances are that its low on juice when you start it up thus causing the grinding noise at times...
recharge or replace your battery and see if that helps
