Integ LS motor in a 95 hatch?
I know that the LS motor is nothing unless Vtec'ed or turbo, but I am considering doing a swap. Putting a stock LS motor in my 95 hatch to replace the lame D15b7. I know that it's no GSR motor, but I'd rather save some money and deal with 140hp than the 96 or whatever it has now. Is it worth it? If I do bolt-ons, I might be able to run low 15's I'm guessin'. Anyone ever done it or heard anything good or bad about it? I just got a new CBR and I know LS motors aren't on high demand, so I hope I can find a complete swap for a descent price. Thanks for any input.
err....its ok i guess. i have mad torque...but i have no vtec to finish the job. if ur def. going for forced induction...i would recommend it. if u just want a fast car for everyday driving...and have no plans...i would go for a cheap b16. w/ a crappy driver (me)...and 3rd and 4th synchros F'ed up in my tranny...i did 15.7. but i have plans for tranny rebuild and LS/vtec. but...good luck on that swap...
would a turbo possibly make up for the top-end that is lacking because of no Vtec? I am wondering what a b18b turbo would run, and i need some ideas on what to do to prep the motor for boost.
new pistons, rods, bearings, sleeve the block, basically rebuild your block with strong parts. get fuel/ignition upgrades and a hondata to tune it properly. you should be good then.
