Default A/C Bracket Question!

I'm swapping a B20 into my 97 Civic, I want to retain my A/C. Someone said I need the 99-00 Civic Si A/C bracket for this. If this is true, my questions are:

1. Will the 99-00 Civic A/C bracket mount onto my B20 block?
2. If so, will I be using my stock (sohc) A/C compressor?
3. If so...what else do I need?

Thanks guys.

Diagram of 99-00 Civic Si A/C Components.

well the way past (5th gen) swaps have gone you would think to use the 99 Si bracket, but that is not so in this case. you need a 94-95 Del Sol VTEC bracket. It has a "P54" cast into it.......i little thing i have found that i will pass on...the b20 ac bracket is the same so if your b20 still has it on there, run it.
thats all you need and yes use your ac compressor.....

Okay, let me get this straight. I don't need a 99-00 Civic Si A/C bracket, I need a Vtec Del Sol A/C bracket? I thought you need a 99-00 A/C bracket for the 96-00 swaps? And you're saying the B20 vtec is the same as the Del Sol's? So if I have either the stock B20 or Del Sol A/C, I can mount my stock sohc compressor on and I'm set?

I know for a fact that the DOHC VTEC Del Sol AC bracket works. It has P54 in the part number. Just get it and be done with it.

Somebody on here stated that the CR-V bracket will work also. I do not know for a fact that it does. So, to be on the safe side, get the DOHC VTEC Del Sol AC bracket.

Man, this question has come up A LOT lately.

My roommate bought the P54, and for a while it was chillin out in the garage. A friend had left some random parts in my garage and in them was a CR-V ac bracket. They looked the same, so I investigated and they are the same. We installed the CR-V on my roommates car and sold the new Del Sol VTEC to an other friend that needed it for his swap.

Yes the 96-97 del Sol/ 99-00 Si ac bracket will work.

96 del Sol AC bracket: 38930-P54-000 $94.82

I got mine from http://www.hparts.com

You can reuse the SOHC compressor.

That's it.

Yeah, if you get JDM b20's they have the aluminum A/C brackets on them. JDMHONDAPARTS sells them for quite a bit of dough. My car didn't have the bracket at all and my friend had one from a jdm b20 sitting around so he gave it to me. A little jdm goodness and some weight savings! It's not that much weight but every little bit helps. I don't have A/C but it's a torque mount too so I wanted it.

Okay, I thought my only choice is the 99-00 Civic Si a/c mount, but from what I'm hearing, I have a choice of either the B20, P54, or 99-00 Si a/c mount?? Thanks for answering my questions guys, it's hot in CA.
