Valve/Valve spring installation
Quick question. Should there be any resistance to place a valve in a head?
I installed 14 of the valves/springs with no problem. The last two valves slide in and stop approximatley 1/4" away from the head. I have to tap them in with the soft handle of a mallet.I have to do the same to pop them out. I do not want to install the springs if something is out of line (seals / guides). B16 Head, Stock valves.
They are on the same side of the same cylinder. This makes me think the may have got tapped by the piston and something bent or shifted.

Yeah. Doesnt sound right. There shouldnt be that much resistance requiring a hammer to tap them through the guides. Are the valves new? You could just have a slightly bent valve and not a messed up guide. Hopefully that is the case.
