yes, i read the big 12 page "where did you get your motor and how did your experience go" thread, and it was very good, but no one really talked about how their motors were running once they were in the cars. so if you have installed one from one of those companies on that list, and had either good or bad luck with it, post up and let us know. im debating where to get mine from, but as you can see, i dont want to get one from a place that sends out troublesome engines. so if you have good info, let us all know

 

Two of my friends got B16A's from ARD Performanc. One is really strong and runs great. The other is in a CRX and its almost slower than the car was stock. The motor sucks. It runs fine, its ust really weak.

 

Got mine from HONDAMOTORSONLINE and it runs
stellar.

 

I bought a 98 GSR and a 96 LS both from Import Auto Salvage...Both went in with out a hitch and run like a dream. Absolutely no problem ...KNOCK ON WOOD . Give Larry Jr or Randy a call, they sell COMPLETE swaps....i even got lug nuts with my swap...

I got my B16 swap from Japan Direct. Motor was severely washed out inside, stale gas inside the whole engine, and oil was still in it. It had obviously been sitting for a while. Car took forever to get started and smoked for a while but runs strong now.

I have pirchased my ols B18C1 swap and my girl's B16A2 swap from I.A.S in North Carolina. Both motors ran/run really strong and dynoed about the average for each motor. Every motor I've seen from there ran perfect, and that's like 10 motors total because all my pals bought from them too.

They sell 100% complete swaps with even the hoses uncut - they get my vote.

Also, my shop just got a full JDM B18C (GS-R) for a customer. Most complete JDM swap I've ever seen. Came with hoses uncut too. I'll tell you how it runs on Mondat night after the guy gets his car.

 

I got a LS changeover from IAS. Engine wise the company is great. Id probably buy another from them.

but......I also baught a rear disk conversion from them and ohhh boy was that a mess.


Engines they are great on, but other stuff there is no real quality control, they gave me 3 bad master cylinders, a bad porportion valve, a bad trailing arm, and a bad ECU

but when I took my valve cover off my motor it looked like they dipped all my internals in platinum

I picked up a B16A1 from JDMHondaparts.com . Engine runs great, but the syncros on the tranny aren't so great. Transaction with them went smoothly, they had a towing service deliver the front clip to my home since I was only less than 10 miles away.

Got my motor from Evan's Honda Specialist. I got the setup you see below, completely rebuilt with JE pistons, a blockguard and complete turbo kit with intercooler and the works for $6k. That was installed and everything. I've bought 3 engines and my buddy bought a crx and an engine off of these guys and everything has worked and ran FLAWLESSLY! Check out their website and give Chuck a call, tell 'em Heath sent ya and they'll prolly treat ya a little better!

I got my 96 B18C1 complete swap from Sohfast.com back in November 99, still running strong.

 

For you Toronto area peeps, I got my JDM B18C1 from Rafal (Honda-Tech name Screamer). He hooked me up with an ITR tranny and 5-lug swap too. He also has good hook-ups on aftermarket parts like Toda and Spoon, which I loaded up on

 

got three motors from IMPORT AUTO SALVAGE! one of the single cam motors had bad rings but they where quick to send me a replacement no charge. they back up all their motors 100%.. larry jr and randy are really nice and they give you good deals. they try to work with you unlike some of these other import shops. but ias

 

Got my B18C1 from IAS May 2001 and no problems whatsoever. Larry Jr. is a good guy, great customer service, proper delivery time and I even got misc. parts with it including a set of lug nuts.IAS gets
