How is your motor you bought from (insert company here) running after the install???
yes, i read the big 12 page "where did you get your motor and how did your experience go" thread, and it was very good, but no one really talked about how their motors were running once they were in the cars. so if you have installed one from one of those companies on that list, and had either good or bad luck with it, post up and let us know. im debating where to get mine from, but as you can see, i dont want to get one from a place that sends out troublesome engines. so if you have good info, let us all know
damn, no one has a used motor in their car in the "HYBRID" section?
My motor, which i sourced myself, and took 3 months, from "U-Fix-It-Honda" wrecking yard in Washington state, works great after 2 years and 45k miles later, no probs whatsoever, not even a single check engine light...happy?
Pretty soon im going to attempt the an H22a in 3g prelude. Ill write up a faq and take pictures. Ill let you know all the ins and outs of it. Then ill start project subaru ;-)

Anyway, several people I know ordered from HMO, and their engines run GREAT. Only occasionaly is there a bad seed....and when there is, it's usually something very simple.

I purchased a B18C1 from U-Fix-It (UFI) Honda also. It was $3500 for the complete swap with a full startup guarantee. They even took my stock D16Z6 swap back for $1K. It was great to deal with them because I got ALL the parts that I needed.
The other two engines I bought were from private importers and I did not have any problems with them. In all cases, I checked the compression myself and did a thorough inspection.

i got my h22a from Sheng at jdmhondaparts.com I installed it myself over a period of about 3 hrs a day for 1.5 weeks and no check engine lights.

I got mine through Collective Racing, who in turn got it through P&G. They screwed me on the tranny 3 times. The motor runs great, haven't really had any problems. and now, 1 year later, i still don't have the right trans, but i gave up with dealing with them.
I'm not sure if you're looking for motors installed by these places, or just purchased there.
I got my ZC from Nippon about 4 years ago. I've put well over 30,000 on it, and I run anywhere from 6 - 10 psi on the motor and I've yet to have a significant problem. I did have to replace the distributor as the bearings went bad (shocker on a ZC). Other than that, the motor has given me no issues at all.
The thing is that most importers get their motors from the same places overseas, so really they all get about the same mix of good and bad engines. Go with whoever has the best price and best customer service in case something does go wrong.

Got mine from JHP, and no problems so far after 6 months. Replaced all the usual maintenance bits before installation, and not a single problem to date, aside from the S1 tranny munching its innards on the first test drive (a bearing disintegrated and the ***** got in between the teeth of the gears. Nasty sound, that). Can't really blame that on the vendor though.
i got my 1st gen b16a from hondamotorsonline and it started up on the first try, no CEL. runs well so far...i've put on about 5000 miles. the only thing is my third gear synchro is bad now but thats a common problem. so i give HMO

I got my 1st gen b16a from Hondamotorsonline. It started right up when I finished the swap. I put about 7500 miles on it and the S1 trans ate itself. I put it another J1 trans and it runs fine again. The bearings on the distributor went but that is something I expected from an old motor. I give HMO
Got mine from hondamotorsonline. Got it in the car, and found out it has a blown headgasket.
I am so done with this sheit.!!
