looking to buy a itr a 96 and the guy shipped it from cali and has not titled it here in the states yet so i was wondering what all would i have to do and would it be very costly?

 

i heard it was a bit easier to title it in other states. i know here in cali its a pain in the *** and cost you up to 2,000. but i think it all depends on what state you live in. i also read a while ago some guy just took the jdm pink to the dmv and they registered it for him..but i forgot what state he was in.

If its JDM and untitled then your best bet would be to keep looking. The previous owner most likely attempted to title it and was obviously unsuccesful. Save your time, effort and pennies for an already titled one if you want a JDM.

i will be doing this process in the future and plan to do an entire write up of the registration of my 1998 spec DB8-R. This will occur in the coming months once my swap is in the car and it is running.

 

the guy said it has not been titled yet and you have to get it title like a kit car??? is this true? im about to call dmv to find out how it goes down or if some knows the easyest way to do it let me know thanks guys

 

Good luck getting those cars titled since there is a major crack down on non registered cars.....

In Cali anyways.... few members that used to import them had some legal issues come up

Even if you get it titled, you could end up getting the car confiscated down the road, like they are doing with the Skylines.
