2002 SI Stereo install questions
Before I replace the Head-Unit I would like to add my amp/subs. I am not sure where or how to tap into the Rear Speaker wire to run it into the amp.
Once I get a new HU I will be running RCA so this wont be a problem.
Also, how the he** do i get the stock HU out, and when I do, what type of "KIT" will I need to make it fit, and where do I get it, and what type of "HARNESS" do i need to purchase for an aftermarket HU.
*Whew* Thanks~!

you will need to have a high level to low level input converter, this takes high level (a.k.a amplified) signal, and converts it to line.. it costs roughly $30 and really isnt worth the trouble if your going to replace the deck to be quite honest...

I have High & Low level inputs on the amp (thankgod) - so I dont need the converter. I am mostly interested in the type of wiring harness and the "plate" I may need to fit an aftermarket HU in there. I will be calling crutchfield this afternoon to ask so ill post here when/if I find out.
Thanks... crutchfield said I would not need a plate or a harness.... , I find that hard to believe because the radio is shaped like a triangle. Ill check out the metra harness' thanks!

go to circuit city.. we sell a kit by metra that costs 17.99 i think and you will also need an adapter harness that costs 14.99 to wire the aftermarket radio to the stock plug.. as to getting it out i think its very similar to 01+ civics and it can be a pain in the ***.. check out installdoc.com or do a search for more help..
