Default Turbo LS.. best transmission.

Im going LS Turbo. running maximum of 15lbs of boost. looking to make 300 to 350whp. mild build on the motor. I was thinking that the LS tranny would still be suitable for boost. Im going to upgrade the synchros and install an LSD..... Anyone feel another trans would be more suitable for this setup?

ls tranny, its long enough to keep up with boost and u dont spin gears plus its tough like all the trannys

b16 is to short and type r is fast but for boost 1st and 2nd gear r non existent ls is your best bet

usdm b16 and type r trannys have the exact same gearing.

i'd stick with the ls tranny unless you're running some huge turbo that takes forever to spool up; in that case i'd go with a gsr.

gsr has same 1st and 2nd gear as ls. Its also been proven that b16/itr transmissions are better for 1/4 times. Look at all the big shops, everyone is completely reversing their theories and running short gears.

b16 ratios are really short, ls are really long, just meet somewhere in the middle with a gsr tranny, quicker shifting than the ls tranny but a better track time

Why is this completely absurd idea still floating around?

Shorter gears are better for acceleration. Closer gears are better for acceleration.

If 1st is useless due to power, then change the final drive, not the gear spacing.

i run a GSR tranny..LS transmission sucks, long gears long boost blah blah..quarter mile, the shorter gears will help..and plus LSD is always nice
