I heard the same thing and I think it had to do with it being bad for seals. I suppose if you poured it onto a seal and let it sit for along time maybe. But if you run the car right away it burns off in a couple minutes. I can't see how your seals would be destroyed in 2 minutes. I ran my first can at about 150k miles, and then another one at 200k. One tip I have: Do it ina place where you don't care about leaving a horrendous huge cloud of white smoke, i literally filled the whole Cul-de-sac with white smoke during the day the first time, so the second time, I went to a back road at night.

Love seafoam and I used it on my Accord @ 280,000 miles! I don't think there is a mileage restriction. Just don't let it sit more than 10 minutes.

The reason seafoam is sometimes not recommended for higher mileage cars is because sometimes the crud is actually preventing oil leaks and when you clean them out, the crud is gone, thus leaving the gap to leak oil out of.

Since I have never used Seafoam, do you guys/gals use Seafoam to fix an issue or as regular maintenance? If my car is running fine with no issues, should I be using Seaform? Thanks.

I have used it a few times when my mileage was less than 150k. I do not want to use it again since my mileage is now high. I have replaced most of the oil seals in my engine though. I never had any issues with mine. When I replaced my timing belt at 180k miles, one of my seals had just started to leak in the timing belt area, but I had already bought the seal to replace it. I would do it for less than 150k, but probably not more. Its just my personal number. I haven't seen any mileage given out as a limit.
