OBD2 to OBD1 B20 Block conversion
so i found a steal on a fully built b20b block and instead of building my b18 i have decided to go the b20 vtec route. it is tapped for lsv already has eagle rods and .20 over bore with forged pistons. it is also block guarded. my questions are...... will my LS tranny bolt up without any modification? im assuming it will but need an answer..... what do i need to do to convert the b20 to OBD1 without any CEL lights! i have heard i need sensors, water pipe and all that fun stuff. help is appreciated. thank you
tranny will bolt on fine. nothing different. all b series are the same bolt pattern.. just put the motor in and hook up the necessary sensors. don't need nothing to convert. unless your car is obd0 or obd2 then you will need a jumper harness for the ecu. but other than that you're fine . unless you need to run v tec wires but thats no biggie.
If your car didn't have a vtec motor you will have to run vtec wires and pin them into the ecu. or sometimes when you by a jumper harness they will be haded with the harness so that you can run to the vtec solenoid.
Not to jack a thread and sorry for bringing up an old one, but I am looking into doing a B20B Swap into one of my EGs. The EG is OBD1, and I believe that the B20B is OBD2. What your saying is that I can just put the OBD2 B20B into my OBD1 EG there is nothing I need to convert? It'll just plug up with my harness and P30 Chipped Hondata S300?
