can someone educate me on where/what the steering rack coupling is??
So I took my car to a shop (93 Prelude) beacuse there was excessive play in the steering wheel...
Outter tie rods were fine, so I was thinking it was either going to be time for a new(reman) rack/pinion or just inner tie rods.
Turns out it was none of the above... apparently it needed new 'steering couplings'
Can someone educate me as to what those are/what it does? Also what it should cost to replace em'?
Is this something that usually comes with a reman rack/pinion from like napa?
I tried doing some searching and nothing specifically about that topic.
My svc manuals are in a different city right now too so I cant really look it up. though even if i did i'm not sure if it'd explain why it does what it does and what it should cost.
Thanks for any help you guys can offer!

so if a steering rack was purchased at say auto zone, this part wouldn't usually be included in the reman part right?
also what would getting this replaced cost? (roughly)
