Default Ecu got wet...car wont stay running

The other day i was driving my car in a rainstorm. It started to get a check engine light and the light was blinking. Me not knowing what it was, i continued to drive hoping that i could just baby the car to my girlfriends house. Finally the car shut off and wouldnt start. I went to my passenger side to get the plug to check the CEL and noticed my floor was soaked and the ecu had water on it. I got the car towed and dried the ecu out. I plugged it in and the car started perfectly fine, but if you move the ecu at all it throws a CEL and shuts off. Is this a wiring problem? or is it still an ecu problem? i need to drive the car to school this weekend and i need to figure this out. Any ideas?

the car has a p72 in it....how much do you want? and could it be the ecu? cuz if i dont touch the ecu and let the car run its perfect but when i move the ecu is when the car stalls and dies. so it is the ecu either way?

thats what i figured. So i have to trace all the wires back from the ecu and try to find out where the short is

So you think is the wiring but it was working perfectly fine before the ecu got soak on water...try another ecu from a friend or some one just to start the car you can use any ecu p06, p28. just try one to start the car.. in my opinion your ecu is fried cuz if you dont know yet the water transport electricity...lol

yea i know but my ecu is fine until i like move its position on the floor, ill start the car with my ecu, itll run and idle perfect, but like if i hit a bump or the ecu moves at all the car will shut off, to me it sounds like i have a wiring problem

i think its your ecu cause mine is doing the same thing. its been doing that since i bought the car a month ago. so i wouldn't be able to tell you if its mine got wet too or not. but im running a 99 si and when i touch the ecu the car sound like its gonna kill or sometimes it'll just kill the car. so i test it on my buddy's ecu (same ecu like mine) and it wouldn't do it. found out it was plug C for the obd2b.find someone with the same ecu or something to test it out and if it doesn't kill then its your ecu and if does kill the car then you have a short somewhere.
