H22A N/A build advice.
I am building a H22A for my 93 Prelude. I have already aquired a P&P head with Crower stage 3 cams, duel springs and Ti Retainers, Skunk 2 intake with AEM fuel rail and regulator. I am in the process of buying a meagan 4-1 header and 2.5in full N1 exhaust system. I was considering a 70mm TB. What do you guys think? What more do I need?Should I get a bigger fuel pump? I was looking at some ECU's and am confused as to what I need. Should I chip with a standard base map or should I get a system like Hondata S300?
I have to add that I am not looking to track it that often just want some street power and maybe track it on the weekends. I am also new to the tuning side of cars. I have been repairing cars for three years but not tunning.
What do you think? I apreciate any advice to make this car run perfect?
Thanks

You need to sell those junk cams and do some serious searching on honda-tech man......
Nobody will spoon feed you info that has existed here for a solid decade.

Do you have a JDM H22A? Are you leaving the bottom end stock?
Stock fuel pump is perfectly fine, no reason to upgrade.
You definitely need a ROM editor, like Hondata S300, eCtune, Neptune, or Crome and obtain an OBD1 P28, P30, or P72 ecu. Without this, your car will never run "perfect".

Why are those cams junk? What would you recomend NirVTEC?

They will not make good power with stock compression(and I will keep my mouth shut on how I feel about eh Company itself)
I would look for a pair of Skunk2 Stage1s/Pro1s for your setup. They love stock JDM compression.

I guess I will have to look at something different. Thanks for your advice. I am just going to bolt the intake and headers onto the stock motor for now. Is a 70mm TB too much for a stock JDM H22A? Is it worth it?
IIRC mgags7 has a dyno chart floating around of the C3's with a JDM H22A.
From what I remember, the stock cams made the same power until after 6-6500rpms, but the C3's carried a decent amount past 7500rpm.

I was looking for something to help out throughout the whole range. Or atleast have a better mid and upper range increase. I will look more into the skunk2's but for now I will work on maximizing what I have with bolt-ons and a goot tuned chip like Crome Pro.
At this point, the market is probably flooded with used hondata stuff, so you can also look into something as basic as the S100 for your setup.
I can't see spending the money on a 70mm throttle body for a basic setup like this. You can find plenty of things to spend the money on elsewhere.
The stock fuel pump and injectors will be fine for this setup, assuming they are in good condition. You may want to consider having a Company like RC balance and blueprint the injectors just to be sure they are Even-Flow. ~$30/ea IIRC <<--At that point, you can also look into RDX injectors from Rosko. They run about $40/ea but require a little work to make them fit.
To The OP..we're doing practically the same build..
I have a JDMh22a, S2 Pro 2's, Cam Gears, Dual Valve Springs and Retainers. I HAVE Mahle Gold Series Pro's good for 12.5:1 but I retracted on using them at the moment so the bottom end is totally stock. S300 hondata ECU..
I SECOND the notion of going to Rosko if you're going to go with a FUel Injector/Rail upgrade and a good regulator, i'm waiting now to get money for Them and the tune I need and I've heard nothing but good things from them.
I'm interesting to see how we're going to Dyno, aside from our intake manifold, throttlebody, intake and exaust packages it seems close to the same build..
I'll post my dyno chart soon as I go for a tune, good luck man!
