grinds when shifting.
i had a 5 speed swap done in my 97 accord. but when i shift gears from 1st to 2nd it grinds sometimes, but mainly 2nd to 3rd. it gets real bad if your giving it hell. what can it be? just so u know my clutch is fully engaged immediately off the floor. i tried to adjust the pedal but not much difference, so could it be the slave cylinder? thanks for any input.
Maybe it's a bad gear box... i knew that the gearbox sounds like that when the synchronizer mechanism (hope i'we got it right, i don't know the exact word in EN) is starting to fail.
I've heard you have to reinforce the firewall on '94 - '97 Accords when doing a 5 speed swap because the firewall will flex when you depress the clutch. I'd check that out first, clutch may not be fully disengaged.
i hope its not the trans, ill check the pedal to see if it flexes. i had a guy do the swap for me and i asked him about that and he said it was fine, but i will still check thank you.
