D16y7 Head Bolt Removal Pattern ?
Ok Guys,
Ive Practically Tore Down the Internet For This, Or Maybe I Suck At Looking Through The Search Options ... Either Way.
Doing A HG Replacement On My 00' Civic Dx ... Marked Timing, Pulled The Belt Back, Removed The Valve Cover To Remove The HB's And BAM !
Helmes Throws A Loop On Me ... The Diagram They Show In The Book Is Only For Installation of Headbolts ...
Anyone Have A Diagram Or Know The Removal Pattern Of The HD's On A D16y7 ?
Ive Only Been Able To Find The Removal Pattern For The Mini-Me's ... And I Really Dont Wanna Warp The Head IF It Isnt Warped Already ... I Just Wanna Do It Right, Since This Is My First Attempt At An HG Change ...
Thanks

the mini-me removal should be the same for yours anyway. its inside out if i remember correctly. took this pic from another forum. i'll take it down if someone asks. ignore after the grey. don't think it applies. only thing concerning you is the green.
When in doubt, use google to search. Honda-Techs search sucks.
I googled "honda head bolt sequence" and went to images.

*follow the sequence. Dont trust those torque specs.

Word, Thanks Guys ...
Oh Boy. Started The Removal ... Second Time Round In 1/4 Interval Turns, And The Damn Number 3 Bolt Has Seized On Me ... WTF.
I Was Really Hoping I Wouldn't Have To See The Money-Pit AKA Mechanic On This !

Removal is reversal of installation just go from 10 to 1 in 1/4 turns and should come right off. even if its warped or not you should get it resurfaced just to play it safe... machine shops usually charge like 30 bucks and its ready in like half an hour. unless you get a valve job which is like $115 but you'll be practicably be getting like a brand new head
what he said^
but you dont have to get the head milled if its not warped, but again its always good to get it milled
start removing the head bolts from the outside working your way into the middle in a criss-cross pattern sir
ps* search for the correct tq specs
