Default EF Hatch Starting issues. OBD0 to OBD1 Conv. w/P28 .....Help????

89 Si EF9
JDM Single cam Vtec ZC
ZC sohc vtec dizzy.(same as z6) Plugs were changed out to obd1 on harness for dizzy
obd1 injectors (injector plugs changed to OBD 1)
Resistor box plug was cut and i twisted them toger and soldered them. so no resistor box.
P28 ECU Virgin
Jumper Harness(tried this harness for obd0 to obd1 , and another one from Rywire and still no start. i know for certain the rywire harness was for mpfi...
Checked grounds, valve cover, trans. and thermostat.
battery terminals are fine
there is a check engine light after initial attempt to start. can i jumper the plug to read codes even though i am using a jumper harness?
the starter cranks and there is fiel in the rail..
car sometimes will crank after 3 to four attempts
Yes i put oil in it.....
battery is not drained after long periods at rest.
all lighting is at normal brghtness
I would post pics but i am not good with pic stuff.... how do i post them up??

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

check all fuses
- check main relay
- add a ground
- try obd0 ecu if it starts it will be in limp mode
- check firing order
just go over your work if everything is correct it may be the motor harness

- was it a DPFI to MPFI conversion first ?

What code is it throwing ?

good call, that reminded me of a couple things...i dont believe it is the main relay because the car was starting fine with the stock engine in it. the 89 si came with mpfi so i had no need to convert, i am going to go check some things. update soon

is the starter good? check battery terminals, manually jump a ground from battery negative to engine or trans, then jump another ground from battery negative to body ground, try that and see what happen.

DBL an Triple check the Dizzy plugs, I was having the same issue with my first obd1 b swap, I had one wire wrong, also make sure there "clicked into place". You may have created a short by twisting the resister box wiring together and soldering it.

I converted the injectors and dizzy... The jumper harness was bought off CL, unknown brand. Well looks like to RYWIRE for answers

how are you supposed to removde the resistor box i also just twisted them together and soldered and now im not getting fuel or spark but im pretty sure i have a faulty dizzy so that takes care of the spark
