i have a friend whos been running stock autozone axles at 700hp for 2 seasons now.
300hp isnt even close to exceeding the limit on stock axles, of course that depends on driving style, not power. if you preload on slicks they will be fine.

I've seen people snap "stage 5" axles like twigs, and seen others launch the **** out of decade-old oem's with ripped boots like it was life or death.
It's all about preloading them. The majority of problems are from the shock of dumping the clutch at the line and while shifting. One guy I know (who shifts his 13X hp/L race car rediculously fast) will only use axles with over 50k miles on them. He'll change the boot & grease, but claims the steel parts are work-hardened from all those miles.

i run 26x10 on stock axles took my first pass on them made a bet and i won they still holding wit ove 900hp im getting big boy dss 5.9 asap just in case...but stock hold as long as u preload your car and dont dump the clutch ride it at the tree..if you a driver they hold not forever but a more thn a few passes if you run street tires the wheelhop will make it snap faster than wat u think..just my 2cents from my own car
I've broken stock axles with 300whp but it was because I didn't preload. I came back to the track with some more power and the same 22"'slicks and ran 10 times without breaking.
thats weird 92redhatch. hm well i'll pick up a used set and just bring em with me lol. not like they take long to swap out. it can be done in ten minutes
lol i broke a stock axle in half with a d16 with bolt ons (115hp) and a new act clutch. i dropped it out driving like a jerk.
i use autozone axles, never broke one 400ish hp and drag radials. at least 30-40 passes per year. however, i do bring them back at the end of each season and tell the guy they are clicking and trade them in for a new pair. gotta love lifetime warranty.
long story short, if you preload and drive properly they can handle lots of power

Preloading is where you pull you ebrake and hold it while you put power to the wheels so basically you are slipping the clutch... Untill the light comes on then you drop the brake and WOT.. Its bad to go from having the axles in a neutral state to dropping 4-5K rpms on the axles that is what snaps them..

[QUOTE=sanman000719;41120450]just slipping the clutch all your doing it applying a load to the drive train before leaving it reduced the shock on the situaion[/QUOTE
Well they get what i mean.. By the time you leave every thing is going to slip.. I actually dont like to launch my civic as there is no use now on street tires.. 1 gear is useless as it is..
