Default Weird idle muffler sound?

Well i currently have a 95 ej1 with a d16z6 with stage2 clutch, fidanza wheel, sri with bpi stack,dc 4-1 header,2.25" piping with obx twin loopmuffler. Chipped p28.My concern is that when at idle my car seems to have to much vibration. So does my muffler. As if my idle was low or surging...but idle isnt surging. Also if im at idle and i hold down brake pedal the shaking gets worse. Im stumped

What kind of mounts do you have? At what RPM does your car idle.

well my idle is around half between 1 and 0. so my guess is 500? Idk. Thats what my concern is cuz i know honda oem tachs are always off. Plus im using a eg6 sir cluster. i dont know if that matters as far as readings. Mounts are stock. Havent really checked it. But i know its not mounts because my muffler does the same thing. Muffler vibrates. Sometimes it doesnt do it. So i know it has to do with my engine. Like idle or misfire.

Kind of does muffler sound like it was dying. Like when idle is really low. Plus when i hold brake pedal while idle its worse. Kind of feels like it wants to shuf off.

Well if you're idle is only at like 500, then raise it. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be like 750 or something. I have mine set to 750 and it'll dip to 500 sometimes when like the fan kicks on and it sorta makes the sound you are describing. I would just open a chilton's on how to set your idle and try and raise it up. I think it's worth a try.
Good luck!

I would love to. But our tachs arent very readable. As in there is no way to know 100% its at 750. I believe thats what its suppose to be at. cuz the Honda OEM tachs are always off. Ill give it a try right now. Does the engine have to be warm?

Of course the engine has to be warm. If it hasn't been warmed up then your idle will be higher than normal.

Found this on google.

See the first little line right above zero? That's 500. Each of those little lines is a 500 amount increment. The reason it goes from 0 to 500 with no gap is because anything below 500 is way too low and unmeasurable. So if your little needle is in the middle between the first little line and 1, then it should be at 750.

The accuracy of our tachs is fairly good. I've noticed when getting emissions tests and they hook the car up to that computer. My tach always matches the rpm speed on the computer.
Ef's though I've noticed kinda bob so it's a little hard to tell where it's at, but not our coupes.

If you open a chilton's for your car, it'll tell you exactly how to set the idle speed. If you don't have a hayne's or a chilton's manual, I recommend you get one.

Well yes i have one. I just replaced the plugs with some denso ones. And yeah the line sits at that point you state. But here is your point being just a slight bit wrong. My chipped ecu is set to 7200 rpm shift light. When i have revved it that high it never comes on till about 7400-7600. Ive asked here about it and many people stated the OEM tach is always slightly off.

just adjust the idle air screw on the TB counter-clockwise some until your needle's sittin a little under the 1, when the car's warm. if the idle starts surging any then just adjust the screw back in a little until it stops
