looking for a very quiet muffler with 3" inlet
hey guys,
i currantly have a full 3" dp+exhaust with a cheap end muffler.
i dont want to add any resonators to the piping, so i am looking for a very quite rear muffler that has a 3" inlet.
can anyone reccomand?
thanks

I'd run a Varex muffler if you want dead quiet exhaust with a hit of a switch, and drive with it open 99% of the time.
The muffler itself is also made REALLY well, probably with a different packing material because I have installed this muffler on other cars and has been one of the most quiet mufflers I have encountered. I have one in my Camry which is a straight aluminum 3" exhaust with no cat/resonator and it was more quiet than my old Magnaflow system + 2 18" resonators + cat. I also installed one in an NA Civic, and the Varex muffler alone with no resonator was quieter than a Magnaflow with a Vibrant ultra-quiet resonator and a 12" bottle resonator.
They are hard to get (from Australia), but worth every penny IMO.
If it is out of your price range, then a largest Magnaflow muffler would be my other choice for a quiet muffler. Fit the largest muffler you can under your car, and it will be quieter than a smaller muffler.

I have always had good sounds and tone with the dynomax mufflers, I've used the turbo series on N/A cars and turbo cars. They r quiet with just a little tone, nothing ricey tho. That was with just the muffler too, no cat or res, 2.5" all the way. U can get them at ur local NAPA too for like $60.
ES Tuning - Oval is my favorite because they give the option of polished or matte black, they are hit and miss on the noise though but they've always sounded great IMO.

If you have a smaller turbo, it may be okay for 300 WHP levels.. But a large turbo and 400 + WHP, any chambered muffler kills power, spool and even puts the motor at risk from excessive exhaust pressures (you will get swelled pistons, scoring, etc...)

The Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers are indeed quiet, but can come with heavy power losses as well.

well its not the same for my case, i'm looking to get more then 400hp,
which other muffler would you suggest tony?
If ur going 400+ then I would try a dynomax bullet, I haven't used one on an import but it sounded great on the syclone. Was still a bit loud but not bad, I think they r rated to reduce noise by 10 to 12db. If ur doing high hp then ur not going to get anything real quiet but u can stay away from ricey mufflers. Like I said b4 bang for buck dynomax has always done me good. Not ricey with a nice tone and quieter then most others. The bullet is $42

the bullet seems like its soo small to absorb any noise. did you used it as a resonator or a end muffler?
what do you guys think of vibrant streetpower exhausts?
