Kind of hard to tell from the video (you can never get good sound out of them), but it sounds like rod knock to me.

I agree on rod knock.

What do the plugs look like? Like something's been hitting one of them? Or maybe the electrode has broken off one? If not, it's going to be something loose inside the crankcase.

On the plus side, you can probably get another non-VTEC d series longblock for next to nothing.

Time to swap engines or blocks. car-part.com should get u a nice sohc if u cant find one locally, theres also the jdm importers. D15b would be prob 700 shipped

Call around to a few wrecking yards. They'll usually give you a 30 or 60 day warranty if you're concerned about the health of the motor.

If you're going to upgrade, go with the LS. My 2000 EX has had SOHC VTEC and DOHC non-VTEC motors in it and I've been MUCH happier with the latter, especially for a daily.

try checking your valve lash first. most ppl overlooked that and automatically suspect rod knock. check the clearance on those cause a bad valve lash will sound like a rod knock if left unfixed.

Loose bottom end due to low oil or bad oil pump. Source out for another engine.
