Recently purchased a 95 Civic LX Sedan from a buddy with 190k miles. It was running fine when he used it daily. It has been sitting in my driveway and I was starting it every few days to keep it running. Last time I started her right up and let it run for about 5 minutes, no problem. I got in to Rev it up a little and when I hit the gas pedal it immediately died, and will not restart. Turns over, but won't start. Checked & changed the plugs. Could it be the Main Relay or fuel pump?? Not sure if it's getting gas??

Should I check the error codes...will that tell me anything??

 

Update: I loosened the fuel filter and turned ignition on and gas sprayed out for a few seconds, so gas is getting atleast to there....I also think I can hear the "3-clicks" for the main relay, so that seems to be ok. Today I'll pull a plug and ground on the engine and turn it over to see if I get spark...any hints, guys?

Okay...I pulled a plug and turned the engine over, no spark. So i guess I trace it back from there? I got a list of the CEL codes so I can check that today..THX! Any codes to look out for or be aware of?

 

Today I jumped the service check connector to try to pull any codes and got a solid CEL and blinking SRS light. What does that mean???

 

Okay....After much help from the HT forums, I figured out the propblem. It was the ignition coil. Go some great instruction on how to get to & test the coil, and replace it. All is well. Thanks to HT!
