Default B16 Greddy or BUDDY CLUB 2.0 Low Comp Head Gasket

Hey Guys

I'm looking at lowering my B16A SiR-II's compression and up the boost a bit... 15psi

Any thoughts on using ether GReddy or BUDDY CLUB Metal 2.0 Head Gaskets?

My tuner recommended HKS but there harder to find.

Motors current comp is 10.4 running 9psi on 98octain 161kw or 217hp

Thanks

Luke

OEM won't lower the compression

your right. switch out pistons then (easier then you think)
the thicker the head gasket the more likely you will blow it out.
the thinner the more likely you will have a leak
oem has worked wonders for mine...12lbs of boost. cams. e85..

i did my own stuff. very easy. while the head is off.
take off the oil pan, pickup, and baffle. then 2 at a time unbolt the rods and pop them out and switch out pistons and use a $10 piston ring sqeezer and pop them back in.
thumper64 has eagle rods and wiseco pistons for sale super cheap

just throw more boost at it the way it is. lowering the compression wont make that much of a difference anyways in how much power you can squeeze out of it.

I do all my own work but inside the motor...

Can they be changed with the head still on?

No one here in OZ runs 15psi on there B16/B18

12psi is considered the highest on stock B's

it's not the amount of boost that makes the difference, its the turbocharger itself. Guys down there for some reason get scared to run good sized turbos down there to make power. The stock block with even that compression can easily do 261Kw to the wheels and over 280Nm of torque without having to change the bottom end. you need better injectors and better tuning. No need to change the head gasket to lower the compression if you're tuner knows what he's doing.

On EXACTLY the same turbo as Lukezen 27? the GT2871R doesn't benefit that great with bigger NA cams like the larger units do.

It's fine for 8400rpms. Just because you rev higher and higher, doesn't necessarily mean you make more and more power. But that combo is fine without the need of a Head Gasket
