Default car's steering feels tighter after header/exhaust installed?!?

It's a little hard to describe, but after I installed my new header and exhaust, the steering on my teg feels a little tighter now, especially when making long sweeping turns. Like..there seems to be less play in the steering wheel than before, and it takes a tiny amount more effort to move and keep the steering wheel where i want it.

Is there a relationship between steering ability and these bolt ons? I'm just curious.

Edit: I'm not complaining about this effect at all. I like it and just wanna know how it happened

no.

except - maybe weight reduction reducing steering effort (un-noticable)

or increase in power -> increased powersteering pump energy (again - un-noticable)

so no.

congradulations sir!

are you sure you didnt tighten any old bolts you saw loose under your car?

did you install hte header?

t..

yeah, the only thing I can think of is maybe a slightly better front/rear weight ratio compaired to the old iron manifold and heat sheilds?

I would be surprised if it was noticable though?

on a long sweeping turn, you are probably noticing the car is pulling harder from the power, you may have translated this into better steering. most likely the extra power is causing the car to squat more, this would cause the front to steer with less effort.

If it really feels like much of a difference check and make sure you didn't loosen anything by accident. suspension components, steering components

Just do a quick shake check under the car and if nothing seems loose you are suffering from the placebo effect. Go take another sugar pill.
