Default tps

Ok my lil brother has a crx with a b16a2 swap basic bolt ons. Well the car threw a tps code I checked all the wires everything was good. So I stuck the ohms meter on it I can get it .5v closed throttle but at wide open throttle it goes to 5.5v wtf?

I have tried several tps sensors and they all do the same thing. I know there is a little screw where the throttle cable hooks up. could this be the problem maybe some one adjusted it? I dont know what else to do car is running obd-1 with a chip from jon vega.

any help is very much appreciated

have you tried adjusting the tps while its on? Screw it in. but not all the way. and twist it while the ohm meter is hooked in behind the connector on the wiring.

You might already have tried it while it was hooked up.

that's the way they should work it has a 5v ref wire signal in and signal out ( it's like a variable resistor ) is the throttle plate clean ? they are some what adjustable if it's JDM or has been replaced if it has screw's it ajustable most. USDM have screw that you tighten till the head breaks also car's that had 1.5L need the outside wire's swaped as they read backwards compared to B16 goodluck

Yeah I back probed the middle wire with the tps bolted down tight just enough to adjust it. I have ohmed out several tps sensors before this one is kicking my ***. I think its the throttle body, the screw by the throttle linkage. I checked it and the yellow paint is still the original (unbroken) no one has messed with it.
