anyone read the rulebook for nhra tracks? you need an sfi balancer: general rule section
1.2 ENGINE
all classes with the exception of stock and et cars slower than 10.99 seconds, harmonic balancer meeting SFI Spec 18.1 or solid metallic hub manditory. all cars with pressed on front harmonic balancers must have such installed as to protect against accidental loss.
with that said, either way id rather have an ati or fluidamper because they are better anyway.
i have been using a fluidamper street damper for 4 years strong now,

i have hardly ever seen anyone running anything other than stock, and even though they are pressed on they still have a bolt that presses them on as well as secures them
any engine spinning higher than designed will benefit from a harmonic balancer. but if you guys trust a stock one to not come flying apart at one point, thats fine.
Never had a problem here on the stock at over 9500rpms for 12 years. Unless the rules of the events that you plan to participate in require it as a "tech" requirement, stock works fine for that hp level.

i guess the reason im stressin, is yes nhra requires it, and after seeing the carnage of big daddys clutch explosion, if i am going to be spinning it hard, id like to see it the SFI says it should hold up hahaa.
and i will agree with stock as long as no one posts yeah my N1 pulley is the cats ***. hahaa.

ATI street or stock. Im runngin stock no issues but obviously the ati or fluidamper are going to work much better than the oem
ati works better and better the higher you rev vs the fluidamper works better down lower initially off the start and then decreases with rpms but still better than a oem
