**** WTF!? stiffer in the front or rear GC/KONI *********
okay so im going with koni and ground control setup, but im confused i see people saying to go with stiffer springs in the back and other say stiffer springs in the front and softer in the back... im confused which one promotes oversteer and understeer . Some inputs will be great. Thanks in advance
Stiffer in the back promotes oversteer no matter what suspension element you're talking about, I believe. For DD people recommend much less stiffness in the back, but I've heard that autoXers like it stiff back there for easy rotation.
There are 3 important factors in choosing spring rates, help us out..
-Use for the vehicle
-Vehicle weight
-Desired handling characteristics(stiff,soft)

okay imma go DD but some some sprinted racing here and their so stiffness is a must. ( i dont mind the harsh ride) im going to be dumped neway so i need stiffness reguradless right? and the vehile weight's 2,123 pounds ( eg hatchback).
racing and dumped require different rates. well if you want any sort of minimal "comfort" when dumped. stiffer in front to help from bottoming out is a must if you're dumped.
You do not need stiffer rear springs.I recommend running rates about 450lbs front and 350lbs rear.Let your rear sway bar do some work.
Most of all,Be sure to get a good 4 wheel alignment after changing springs and your ride height.

"Dumped" does not necessarily mean handle well, with coilovers,24-25 inches to to the center of the wheel wells from the ground is a pretty good setting range, especially with a DD car.
