proper FWD suspension set-up
awhile ago i saw a website which explained what results you got when you change spring rates, shocks damping, etc. for a front wheel drive car. does anyone have a link to site like this, or if you feel like giving a nice explanation, go for it. basically just looking for documentation of what kinds of handling changes take place when you use different set-ups in a front wheel drive car. thanks.

i already have a decent set-up, neuspeed koni yellows, pro-kits, gsr rear sway, etc., however, i have been looking at ground controls and am trying to figre out what the best spring rate to use is and the best way to set up my shocks. i see a lot of people using about 50 pounds more spring in the rear, but most springs (like the prokits) come softer in the rear. what is the exact reasoning for this change when using custom spring rates, inducing a bit more oversteer? thanks.

The reason for having stifer springs in the rear is for oversteer after the weight shift (braking, turning) occurs as opposed to dampers which affect how the car controls during weight shift. This is great at the track, when cars are at the limits, however the downside to this is twitchiness on the street. Pro-kits are a street spring kit, and is meant to make the springs a bit stiffer but not make the ride too twitchy.
