Ok well My 97 teg was stolen late november. My wife told me that i am able to a new car as long as its an import. So i was think on a rsx type s or a civic si 2009. The problem im running in to is deciding which one will benifit me more. Now its going to be my DD but i still want some power. I was thinking about boosting one of them with a k24a2 from a tsx or all motor and i understand that all motor is alot of money but the power is always there. The wife said that she dont have a problem helping me out only because im deployed right now. Since this will be a new start i wanna hear other peoples opinion on which one would be better for DD and for some track but main for killing V8's along the way.

 

honeslty i would go for an 09 Si over the rsx-s, they are practicly the same platform motor with slight differences, but the reason i would pick the Si is because of the stock LSD, Recaro seats, etc...

 

you have a good point the thing thats really bothering me is the lack of upgrades for the car and i dont like how the head only has two cam lobes. I know that a Turbo would really help get to my goal but i was kinda leaning towards a supercharger. Im not look to make high horse power due to the fact that im not going to be using the power all the time.

 

new car....wrx(4wd ftw), miata( rwd fun), mazdaspeed3(f-ing fast), mini cooper s ( what the civic used to be, 2500lb hatch with a 175hp turbo motor)

 

i have thought about An sti or MR but as far as upgrading it going to cost abit. Plus I love honda and acura

 

if you are looking to go FI, i would personally go with Turbo, althou you don't use all the power all the time with a supercharger i just beleive the turbo setup will be more reliable in the long run plus you can always turn down the psi

 

What are you referring to that has only 2 cam lobes? The new Si's have the k20z3 which actually has the 3 lobe vtec.

 

wonder why the 06 type s wasnt LSD and recaros?? anyways.. if looks bother you anyhow.. type s ftw! IMO

 

Technically, I think the seats that are in the RSX are made by Recaro. As well as the stock EP3 seats. Correct me if I'm wrong but...

The '06 RSX S had the K20z1 still, the new Si's have the K20z3 that comes with the RBC IM, DBY, and the stock LSD etc...

 

Well in all fairness Evo>WRX easily in terms of power and style. As far as Si and Type S go though its really up to you as far as preference. The Si has a smaller engine bay so i hope you go small hands. And if you plan on boosting it your talking about alot of fabrication. RSX is a better platform if your looking to mod but in terms of power stock it isn't to much better than whats out now. If you have the time and money i'd say RSX but then again im not really a fan of the new Si's anyways...

 

Im with him, a friend of mine bought an 08 mazdaspeed 3 and that thing is super nice. Great interior, good looks, and ran a 13.9 with intake downpipe exhaust. A very well built car that is fast out the box

We can't make the decision for you, and it would be foolish to choose soley based upon some one else's wants. Not saying that is what you are doing, but that's where this thread is going.

almost positive the rsx seats are not recaro however the ep3 seats are, as far as i know every Si seat is recaro
