Ever thought of looking for a used header? I picked up a nice stainless DC 4-1 JDM 2.5 for $75. I really like it. As for stainless v ceramic DC headers-my SS still looks great and you can wet sand it if it starts looking bad. My friends ceramic 4-2-1 has some corrosion around the flange and just doesnt look that good any more, but I guess you can alwasys get it recoated. The ceramic hcoating my help a bit with reduction of heat soak, but I would always go with SS if possible imo.

Stainless if you want it to last more than a few years, ceramic if you know you won't care if it disintegrates over time.

And consider the 4-2-1 over the 4-1.

Keep all oils (including skin oil) off of it, and the color change won't be as bad, and might not even get past the bronze stage.
