Default Headers help please...

I'm looking to buy some 4-2-1 DC sports headers for my 99EX. Can someone tell me if it matters whether the headers are ceramic or stainless steel? Whats the difference? Is it just for looks? Or is there performance value in the stainless steel?

-thanks

Their are no real advantages to either of them. It is mainly looks. Some say that the ceramic coated headers reduce under hood heat, but it is not a big enough difference to do anything.

The stainless steel tend to show the effects of heat after a while, they tend to turn a brownish golden color if I'm correct, tends to lose the flair that you bought it for. Personally I'd go w/ the ceramic.

If you get DC, get ceramic. DC's stainless steel isn't worth the extra money, it isn't good quality, rust often times occurs at the flanges. Might as well get the most bang for your buck with ceramic.

I would check http://www.groupbuycenter.com or http://www.thepartstrader.com

Also keep checking on classified forums on here, superhonda.org, hondamod.com(once it goes back online).

Check out importparts.com as well and talk to Ben if you see him on, he's a great guy and his prices are the best in the import world. Plus you get 10% off for being an HT member.

I like my dc a lot. It is showing some signs of wear after 5yrs and 60,000 miles, some chipping around one of the welds. I payed 300 for mine way back when.

I heard that the accord's stock headers are actually pretty decent and you dont get too much of a gain when replacing them.....is this true or bs????

but everyone else is tellin me to go with ceramic. they're saying the stainless steel rusts (even though i thought stainless steel doesnt rust), and it's more sensitive to the long term effects of heat....

which one is really better?
