Default time for a turbo rebuild?

alright here's the problem. i just recently finished rebuilding my em1 a month or so ago and a few weeks ago i started to notice some oil smoke from the exhaust while i was sitting at idle at ~114F ect and then it was gone when it warmed all the way up. its gotten worse over time and is kinda sparatic when it does it, but to make a long story short i did some research and popped my head under the car to find the oil return line was kinked. so i fixed it and the smoking has gone down a little bit but still smokes at warm idle and under boost. my question is. is the turbo in need of a rebuild, or could it also be the feed line? ive prob done 20-30 full throttle hard driving on it when it was kinked before i knew it was bad, specs of car as follows

-b16a2 fully built 84mm
-endyn catch can setup
-moroso oil pan
-greddy 18g turbo kit @ 12psi with their feed line taped at oil pressure switch and has a extreme psi banjo bolt ( its has a smaller sized feed hole than the greddy one did.)
-idle oil pressure 15-21psi, full throttle 80-87psi taped at oil pressure switch original location after the turbo feed.
-currently running mobil 5000 10-30 for break-in then going to mobil1 10-30 or race15-50 if it isn't to think? (mains are .0015) after 700miles
-turbo had oil in the compressor housing, and turbine side(no in-or-out shaft play but has some up-and-down)
-it aslo consumes a **** load of oil when its been boosted hard ~ 2qts

and if it does need a rebuild is http://www.gpopshop.com/mitsubishikits.html a good place for them or where is a good place to order them? thanks alot for any input, much appreciated.

Sounds like the kinked line messed it up so it's going to need a rebuild.

$350 for a basic rebuild sounds like a lot to me especially since i was only charged $140-160 and it took less than two days and he gave me new feed, oil return and t4 gasket.

Good luck

how is gpopshop as far as quality goes on parts? because i plan on rebuilding it myself so its old 81$ for the kit. i doubt it would need to be re-balances or anything extreme cause its only got ~2-3k on it and not driving hard alot.

U may just have a lot of oil built up in the exhaust and it's just taking time to burn it out, idk how long it has been but it can take up to 2 weeks depending on how much u drive it. The piston ring seal on the turbine side usually don't just go bad like that but gpopshop has good parts. I've used them a few times and never had any problems, if u rebuild it urself make sure to mark how the compressor wheel was clock'd on the shaft or u might have to have it rebalanced.

cool thx for the info. hopefully its just burning off. so far its only smoking at idle after it has sat for a while could this be because im using non syn oil? and geting really thin? and would the mobil1 racing 15-50 be to thick for my clearances? cause i was thinking of switching to that after my next oil change.

Check the turbo for shaft play. Had a similar problem with my 5857 and it toasted my turbo.

there is no shaft play at all in and out but some up and down, which correct me if im wrong is normal cause there's no oil in it when the cars off.

some play is normal. the compressor and turbine should not contact either housing.
