90 Sound Deadening (search no help)
I've read all the topics I can on weight reduction and all of them talked about the sound deadening. I did the whole back and trunk of my 90 Accord and found not one bit of sound deadening. Is it all in the front or is the deadening painted the same color as my car and hiding like a very sneaky and smooth chameleon? Hmmm . . . strange . . . chameleon deadening.
One more thing! I'm still a trial user! What's up with that?

Thanks, I just took out all the deadening below the rear seat. The trunk deadening seems a lot stronger for some reason. Oh well, guess I'll do it tomorrow. Thanks a lot.
Just removed mine... 20 lbs of it from the trunk, rear seat, rear floor, and 2 layers on the front floor.
In the trunk most of it is in the spare tire well and a bit on the backside of the rear wheel wells.

Pretty much like what you'd imagine when removing sound deadening from the chassis... it's as if you're driving a big tin can with a motor and tires and you can hear just about everything the car is doing which is great for the track but annoying on road trips (that's why I'm laying Dynomat and putting the interior back in).

PS removing just the sound deadening material and putting the interior back in doesn't raise the sound level so much, but it's "only" a 20 lb weight savings vs 160 lbs (what I measured for all interior pieces https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=269115).
Cool, thanks guys, found it.
But . . . how did you get it out of the trunk? I just yanked the stuff under the back seat out with a screwdriver. The trunk section seems a little stickier for some reason.

10 lb block of dry ice from beer store. Put the ice on the stuff and let it freeze a bit. The black stuff will come off in chunks so big you'll giggle like a little girl. Well, at least I did.
Another trick for the hard to reach places like the rear footwells, use a can of compressed air like you can get for cleaning computers. When you spray it upsidedown it'll freeze anything in it's path *us the included straw).

Thanks a lot. I'll have to do that when I get home. I'm on vacation in Tampa this weekend. Pretty cool place, can't wait to see the Bucaneers play tomorrow. Thanks again.
