Default where to tap ramhorn manifold for egt

how is everyone tapping their ramhorn manifold for egt. i cant found room to even drill or tap... will more then 2inch be ok??

i thought people said that if you tap the hole further than 2inches the reading will be a bit lower?? what are your egt reading there?

I get up to 1600. This is a road race/time attack car, so after 20 minutes on track and the manifold completely heat soaked, the difference is going to be negligible.
I was looking for a ballpark anyway. I've gone through three 'high-temp' coatings and a '2000 degree super high-temp coating'. I just wanted to see if my temps where getting anywhere even close to 2000, which their not.
