why not just use, stock ls crank, stock ls block, pr3 pistons. good for some high *** compression.

I went through that too. Put some money into doing it right.

Eagle sandwich plate, Type R (aka 96 and up B-series) Oil pump, p72 pistons, balanced crank and rods, welded and machine oil port in the head, shot peened LS rods, Arp rod bolts, Arp head studs, GSR girdle (line honed correctly) and all brand new gaskets (honda OEM).

Conclusion. Ran great and strong but did not last for crap. maybe 4k miles. Note that I am abusive but that is the reason I spent a little bit of money with it. I did not want to get a cheap ebay/home-depot kit and Rig it all up.

Save up for a GSR better by all means. I am currently finishing up my Next engine GSR all the way for now.

basic set up is ls block, pr3 pistons, arp rod bolts, and stock b16a or gsr head this with a good intake header and exhaust will put you in the 160-180hp range

Yea a shop down here in Hemet (no names will be mentioned) "tuned" it. I am going to Church's next to get a real tune.

Spun the # 3 rod bearing and the piston started to lock up on the rod.
