will low pressure in my radiator due to collant bubbling out of my radiator cap cause overheating?

 

yes it will. but the question is is it bubbling first then overheating or overheating then bubbling?

if bubbles first. 1 of 2 things are wrong. blown head gasket or broken water pipe.

if its the latter then the bubbling is the water temp is above boiling point. coolent in the cooling system will make this point higher as well as a higher ratered radiator cap. but there is a reason for it boiling.

ether the therostat is stuck closed or blocked radiator. or water pump is gone.

to test the therostat take it out and toss it in to the kittle or boiling water it should open. if not replace it.

water pump. do the water pipes build up pressure? ie get harder? if not replace water pump.

and the radiator is a tricky one.

but my money is on water pump then HG

 

well the headgasket was just changed. went with a mini me setup. It wasn't doing this until i removed my a/c compressor and lines.

the thing is while driving, the needle will rise when decceleration but when i give it gas it goes to normal or with the heater on it drops slowely.

i want to say its not really bubbling, but more of splashing from the cap area. the pipes do get hard..top gets hot and bottom stays cool. im getting a new cap today and see what that does.

radiator is maybe 4 months old.

It really sounds like a blown head gasket or warped head. Did you have the head decked before you put it on your car? A warped head could create a gap between the combustion chamber and the water jacket. With each compression stroke it can inject air into the cooling system and creating air bubbles in your rad.

 

yea the head was resurfaced and pressure tested. and i have never seen or heard of a cometic head gasket blowing in two weeks. just me!

 

Is the radiator fan working? Maybe it got dissconnected when you removed the AC system.

 

thermostat for sure. test it. then relace it
