you should be able to use the same linkage, but you need to make sure you get one that is a cable clutch (if your car is cable)... different years have different clutch mechanisms..

that is not entirely true. you only have to get a new clutch if you are going from an 88 trans to an 89-2000, or going TO an 88 trans from an 89-2000 trans. trust me, i did it. 88 4spd swapped out to a 91 si trans. had to buy a new clutch. 88's have 21 splines, 89-2000's have 20 splines. only other thing you'd have to change is the fly wheel if you have a fly wheel made for 200mm size clutches and are going to a 210mm clutch, or vis versa. and as far as linkage goes, yes, you can re use the same linkage.

Truth.

I've been through the same ordeal. three transmissions, two flywheels, and two clutches later im finally happy with my setup.

well yea 88's are diff you are right...but he did not specify what year the trans was so i offered the matching clutch with trans info. and i should hope he replaces the clutch while the trans is out of the car already...reusing the old one is just pointless unless its brand spankin new.

89-91 clutches will work with any 89-91 transmissions - 88 clutches will only work with 88 transmissions - doesn't matter if it is 4-speed or 5-speed, you just need to make sure you don't have a 88 transmission trying to mate up with 89-91 clutch or 89-91 transmission trying to mate up with 88 clutch
