blocked off iacv and fitv, any downfalls?
i blocked them both off using thin aluminum(beer can) and some high temp silicone. i just put it between the valves and bolted them on like normal, i then adjusted the idle as follows.
cold start, nothing on 700 rpm
warm nothing on 1000 rpm
warm heater/headlights high beam on 600 rpm
does anyone see any problems with this? i like how it runs so far, and all my coolant lines going to the intake are blocked off including the ones to the iacv and fitv

no they were both on there, they didnt have any hoses going to them and i had a idle problem so i decided to get rid of them. if it has no faults like this i will make block off plates from aluminum instead of cans for a cleaner look(to get rid of them completely)
Have you done the standard fixes for these?
They commonly fail and are easy to fix.
Idle bounces up and down if they are bad... not sure what idle issue you had.

It's all good now, but once you change elevations, weather conditions, etc, it will probably idle like crap. You've taken away the computers ability to control idle for different conditions. You can block everything off but you lose that ability for the computer to adjust idle for certain conditions such as air density, temperature, elevation, engine or accessorie drag, etc. I would definetly try to fix the original problem instead of block everything off.
